The Wells Inn
Ephraim Wells, grandson of Sistersville founder Charles Wells, established the Hotel Wells in 1894 shortly after the discovery of oil in this area. Many hotels and boardinghouses were available for the roust-abouts, oilmen and fortune seekers, who descended upon Sistersville during the turn of the century oil boom.
